Writers Retreat

A non-profit institute has purchased almost 1000 acres of land west of Bangor Maine, with the intention of giving five grants every summer for writers who will travel to the retreat in order to spend six weeks on-site reading, writing, and reflecting. The institute is planning to build five remote studios on the property where each author can spend the day working. My design allows the writers to have their own private cabin for rest, but also keeps them connected to the group through the use of a large stair which accesses all the cabins. A tier is located at the top of the stair for collaboration and lunch sessions between the writers.
